Here’s yet another reason why N4G sucks
Unsurprisingly, N4G’s mods couldn’t explain why they removed my story from the front page of their site yesterday.
The mods response does bring attention to the fact that N4G isn’t actually community driven like it claims. Only content the moderators see fit gets to grace the front page of their website.
Stories that aren’t “sourced” frequently get approved and end up on the front page of the site, but for some reason, mine was singled out.
I would like to know why this story was not only unapproved (after being approved by the community) but also removed from N4G’s front page.
I’ve seen similar stories posted by much “larger” websites that have the same issue your moderators claim, yet they remain untouched.
Also, why was the story allowed to reach the front page in the first place if it is unworthy of that position? It was up there for a good 5 hours probably before one of your moderators decided to kill it.
Your approval process seems very inconsistent and playing favorites with stories published by larger websites will only hurt the community you’ve fostered
While gaming might not be Postmedia’s focus, I still write for a national Canadian news organization that takes pride in the accuracy of our content.
I haven’t been this disappointed in a community driven website in a very long time.

2. It reached the front page because it’s a rumor about the Next Box, which is a ot topic here.
3. The ability for a submission to get approved and on the front page does not make it a legitimate submission. It just makes it a hot topic item that people in the community want to talk about. That’s not a good enough reason to allow rumors that aren’t from credible sources (industry professionals or the like).
