Video games in Mexico are expensive!
During my recent trip to Peurto Vallarta, Mexico I noticed something rather interesting. Video games are insanely expensive in Mexico! A Wii costs $437 CAD. an Xbox 360 will put you back about $600 and a PS3? Well that’s going to cost you 725 dollars. I wonder why the PS3 way more expensive than an Xbox?

I’m assuming it’s the cost of importing the consoles and games but I’m not totally sure. All of these consoles were being sold at a local grocery store called Mega.
In any case, I’m suprised that anyone can even afford a game system down there and I imagine many people actually can’t.
On the bright side, I found two video game magazines in the store, the Spanish language version of The Official Xbox Magazine and Game Master. Both publications look pretty similar to the kind of game magazines we have in Canada and the United States, just in Spanish. So unforunately, I had no idea what was written in either of them.
